The new web browser based game QUAKE LIVE, released as open beta, can be played free of charge directly in a web browser, on computers having Windows XP or Vista operating systems and Internet Explorer 7, FireFox 2.0 or higher installed, only with the help of an ActiveX plugin which ensures the automatic update of the game files on client side.
